The vital role of storytelling in navigating the waves of change
Stories bypass the rational mind,
they go straight to the heart,
they are rationalized by emotions and not criticism,
they draw pictures instead of criticism.

And of course, pictures, you can get in milliseconds.
If you want to persuade people of your ideas, if you want to move people to a new position in thinking, tell them a story. Don't give them facts, give them adventure, excitement. Pluck their heart strings, not their IQ.
It is not a surprise that advertising uses emotion to sell, and not a list of features and statistics; half-naked good-looking models draped round a new sports car do wonders for the sales. The problem is: it tells you more about the buyers than anything else… and it's no longer an accepted practice.
