Discussing the landscape of your mind, working internally, is a forbidden territory. Conditioning by scientific methodology and its framework of materialism has meant that any discussion of self development, internal growth, is relegated to the fantasy section of the airport bookshops.
B. Alan Wallace, in his book The Taboo of Subjectivity, outlines and explains the own goal that scientific materialism makes in leaving a whole universe of possibilities fallow. A priori, scientific methodology has created a closed loop that makes the discussion of the mind undiscussable, and it has embedded these rules deeply into our cultural unconscious, so that any discussion of human experience is ring-fenced to only the empirical world. Any discussion of internal experience, growth, new levels of experience, mental techniques of concentration, meditation, are castrated.
